Making the dragon

Viking 'long boats' often had a carved dragon head at the bow (front) of the boat. The dragon head was simply to frighten away sea monsters and spirits.

As part of our class display for our topic work we have made a dragon head using cardboard boxes and tubes cover with 'ModRoc' (quick drying bandages).  We then painted the figure to make it look even more dragon-like:
