Pin Hole Camera for the eclipse 19.3.15

Today year 6 made pin hole cameras in preparation for the eclipse tomorrow (20.3.15).  The camera will enable us to observe the eclipse without looking at the sun (which would be very dangerous).

French week 12.2.15

Bonjour!
This week has been French week.  In year 6 we learned: l'histoire et la cuisine (History and Cooking).
In History we found out about the Norman Conquest and in Cooking we made croissants and learned how to say what we are having for breakfast.
Très bien!

Making Croissants

Madame Cartlidge demonstrated the process:

The instructions help guide us through the making.

It took good concentration and precise work to roll the croissants accurately.  We added either chocolate or marzipan to flavour the croissants.

Final touch - make it into a crescent before baking in the oven.

The finished product!

...And of course the taste test!!!
